LAUNCH OF THE INDIAN MAHARAJA – LUXURY TRAIN ON 18 NOVEMBER 2009

Travel Corporation of India (TCI) has launched, India’s first privately managed super luxury train namely The Indian Maharaja  operational from 18th November 2009.

This is a focused and personalized initiative to increase the value and experience quotient for tourists wanting to explore the Indian culture. The heritage and history is similarly styled to make a tourist enjoy the grandeur and luxury as the Maharajas did in ancient times.

The itinerary of the tour has been hand picked and carefully crafted by TCI to ensure the traveler getting the “Royal Experience” while exploring India like never before. Over a journey spanning seven nights, the train will travel from Mumbai to Delhi, via Aurangabad (for Ajanta and Ellora caves), Udaipur, Sawai Madhopur (for Ranthambore Tiger Reserve), Jaipur & Agra.  The return journey too will be over seven nights, but with a new group of passengers boarding the train. 

Leaving no stones unturned as far as providing the most superior holiday experience on rail to its clients, the itinerary includes private luxury transfers and Volvos for groups, personalized & multilingual tour guides, royal receptions to exclusive safaris, flee markets, cultural extravaganzas and gala dinners. Clearly this is a new benchmark being set in the inbound luxury travel.
