The first ever “Great Indian Travel Bazaar-2008” (GITB) was a roaring success. This was a Pan-India B2B tourism fair held in Jaipur from 21-23 Apr 2008 which saw participation of more than 180 foreign buyers, Travel writers and journalists. The exhibitors comprising of state tourism bodies, prominent tour operators and DMCs, airlines and hotels recorded a good response and expect to do good business based on the discussions held during the event. TCI Thomas Cook were the surface transport partners of the event which meant receiving delegates at airport, taking them to Jaipur, local running in Jaipur and then transferring them to the Delhi/Jaipur airport at the end of the program. The TCI branding, visibility and service standards impressed the delegates, exhibitors and visitors alike and the entire GITB was colored “yellow” which was our theme color for the event. To add spice, the fantastic Gala Dinner in the personal residence of the Maharaja at City Palace AND with His Highness present personally really swept the Foreign Tour operators off their feet. It was TCI written all over Jaipur during these 3 days!
