Punj Lloyd to develop airport in Sikkim
Punj Lloyd Group will be developing a greenfield airport at Pakyong in Sikkim which will be completed within the next two years. The Airports Authority of India has given the Rs. 264-crore contract to the diversified engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) conglomerate to build the airport -
The airport will be built at a height of 1404 metre above sea level. The scope of the work shall involve excavation of 100 metre depth an earth filing of 80 metre height.
The project is expected to be completed within 24 months. The project includes the construction of a 30 metre wide runway of 1.7 km length, taxiway, apron drainage system and electrical work on the airport. |
