 SLOWLY ON THE GANGES Its actually sailing on the Ganges, covering the journey between Varanasi and Kolkata abroad a cruise boat through the waterways for 15 days. Starting from Sep’09 onwards, this is a very upmarket product (approx USD 10,000/-) and launched by a very experienced and expert company called Pandaw River Cruises (www.pandaw.com). This is their first India product. IRCTC PLANS TO OFFER PACKAGE TOURS FOR VAISHNO DEVI  The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has decided to launch package tours for Vaishno Devi on the Haridwar-Rishikesh Circuit. It also plans to offer package tours for Naina Devi-Anandpur Sahib, Jwalaji and Amritsar. This will make available the option of travelling through IRCTC buses for the connecting journey from Jammu to Katra and Haridwar to Rishikesh. These destinations attract passengers in large numbers all year long. IRCTC’s successful trial run on the Chandigarh-Katra route from January to June last year had lead to the decision for starting package tours.
The two-day and one-night package will include pick up from and drop service to hotel and travel in luxury buses. IRCTC has contracts with hotels in Katra, Haridwar and Rishikesh for providing the travellers places to stay. |
