Tourist Attractions around Shekhawati

DUNDLOD - Around 30 km south-east of Mandawa, Dundlod has numerous havelis like Jathia Haveli and Tuganram Goenka Haveli. However, Dundlod is mainly known for its fort and palace. Another attraction here is the Satyanarayan Temple.







FATEHPUR
- The capital of the Muslim Nawabs in 1415, Fatehpur was taken over by the Rajputs of Shekhawati in the 18th century. The chief attractions here are the Mahavir Prasad Goenka Haveli, the Nand Lal Devra Haveli, the Gauri Shankar Haveli, the Harikrishnan Das Sarogi Haveli, and a 17th-century baoli or step-well.






JHUNJHUNU
- It is the district headquarters and the largest city in the Shekhawati region. Established by the Kaimkhani Nawabs in the 15th century, this place was taken over by the Rajput ruler Sardul Singh in 1730. The main attractions here include the Khetri Mahal, the Modi Haveli, the Bihariji Temple and the Kaniram Narsinghdas Tiberwala Haveli.





LAKSHMANGARH
- Founded in early 19th century on the model of Jaipur it has fine havelis including the grand Ganeriwala with four courtyards.

RAMGARH - The Poddars settled here in the late 18th century. Along with the havelis, there are beautiful chhatris (cenotaphs) having painted entrances and the temples of Shani and Ganga.


SIKAR
- Established in the late 17th century, Sikar was the largest ‘thikana’ (feudal state) under Jaipur. The fort and temples of Gopinath, Raghunath and Madan Mohan here have commendable frescoes and are worth visiting. The jubilee Hall, Madho Niwas Kothi, Biwani Haveli, Sodhani Haveli and the Jain temple are other places worth a visit.
