AUROVILLE - Situated across the border in Tamil Nadu, Auroville, about 10 kms from Pondicherry, is a unique experience. The place, also known as the ’City of Dawn,’ was founded in the year 1968 as a homage to Sri Aurobindo. It is spread over 50 sq. km with a population of over 900. The Mata Mandir in the heart of the town is a spiritual centre where you can see a 30-metre-high globe and a lotus-shaped foundation urn.




CHIDAMBARAM - This is a temple town in Tamil Nadu around 58 kms off Pondicherry. It is famous for the temple complex which houses the renowned Nataraja Temple. Every year, during Mahashivratri in February/March, the Natyanjali Dance Festival is celebrated in the temple.
