KANGRA ART MUSEUM - The Museum is the treasure trove of Kangra Valley’s arts, crafts and rich past, displaying artefacts dating back to the 5th century. It includes a gallery of Kangra' s famous miniature painting along with a rich collection of sculptures, pottery and anthropological objects. Shamianas and dresses belonging to the local royalty, lintels, old carved doors, jails and pandals are also displayed. Coins, jewelry and manuscripts are also included. A section displays the works of contemporary artists, sculptures and photographers. There is a library just below this.



WAR MEMORIAL - At beginning of town, landscaped lawns and narrow paths fill a pine grove, which houses monuments raised to commemorate the war heroes of Himachal Pradesh.


ST. JOHN\'S CHURCH - 8 kms from Dharamsala, in between Forsythganj and Mcleodganj, lies the charming dressed-stone church of St. John. Under deodar branches, a memorial over the body of the British Viceroy, Lord Elgin who passed away at Dharamsala in 1863, has a well tended old graveyard.





MCLEODGANJ - The Little Lhasa, at 1770m above sea level, McLeodganj is the residence of His Holiness Dalai Lama. This Tibetan Government-in-exile for over three decades, has an impressive monastery with life size images of Buddha, Padmasambhava and Avaloktwshwara. The large Tibetan community and traditional architectural designs from Tibet further enhances the area. Tibetan handicraft, and garments are available on sale every Sunday. The Tibetan institute of performing Arts organises a ten day festival on the second Saturday of April.
