Andretta 13 Km from Palampur, Andretta is where famous artist S. Shobha Singh lived for several years. A gallery here houses some of his major works. There is also a pottery centre at Andretta.








Chinmaya Tapovan 10 km from Dharamsala, on the banks of Bindu Saras, is the ashram complex foumded by the late Swami Chinmayananda, a well reknowned exponent of the Gita. The complex has a 9 m high image of Lord Hanuman, a splendid Rama Temple, a school, a meditation hall, and a health and recreation centre.




Masrui 13 Km south of Kangra, Masrui is large monolithic temple, similar to those of Ellora. With rich ornamentation, it is the only shrine carved out of live rock in Northern India. Images of Lord Rama, Sita and Laxman are installed here.



Nurpur Situated 66km from Dharamsala and 26 km from Pathankot, Nurpur, originally known as Dhameri, is famous for the old fort and a the temple of Brijraj. Nurpur got its name in 1672, when Jahangir named it after his wife Nurjahan. The HPTDC to provide tourist facilities is constructing a tourist complex here.
